Prologue - Apocalypse Now (Credit to Robert Jordan, big inspiration)
Time has no beginning. Time is everlasting, always continuing forward, as Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
In a far away plane of existence, one vastly different and yet closely the same as the Earth that humans know, there lies a singularity. This singularity was a being of pure energy, a being that seemed to exist, and at the same time, not exist.
Abruptly, seemingly for no reason, the singularity began to count down. It did not count down in any discernible number, or pattern, but count down it did.
As time faded by, the count began to draw to a close. Gravity began coming active, swirling energy whirls spread throughout this plane, gargantuan, infinite pools of energy forming, supplying the singularity.
Abruptly, the singularity stopped counting. Time seemed to, very briefly, impossibly, seemed to stand still. Suddenly, a flurry of activity burst out, overwhelming dimensional boundaries, and a strange mechanical voice suddenly sounded out…
